Field Trip: We have reserved seats for both classes to watch the Okanagan Rhythmic Gymnastics club and Cirque Theatre Company of "Alice in Wonderland". The performance will be on November 25, and we will be bussing the students to Vernon and back. Depending on the number of students wishing to view this event, we MAY need parent drivers. The cost is $6 per person, and we are asking the students to bring their money on that day, to be collected on the bus.
Parent Permission Forms will be going home today. Please sign and return as soon as possible so that we can confirm our numbers. If your son/daughter does not want to go, we will have alternate arrangements made for them with other classes for the morning. We will be back for the afternoon.
Science:-I'm sorry if you sent a great lunch with your child today, as today we were looking at the decomposing food specimens they brought into class over the last two weeks. The students used microscopes, and hand lenses to view the remaining food specimens. Many said they were not hungry after this exercise....I wonder why!
Socials- We spent the afternoon working on an assessment (for reporting) of how early man was able to use fire to adapt to their environment, change their environment, satisfy their basic needs (food/shelter/water), and how fire was used to develop their culture. This was an "open book" assignment, but wasn't to be done with partners.
