We have been presenting BULLETINS de METEO (or Weather Reports) for the last 2 weeks! We have another 10 presentations to go... The students were asked to pick 2 cities each and prepare a weather report with visual supports (power point, images, posters...). Their goal was to use a variety of weather expressions that we have looked at in class. They were allowed to be creative within reason... and some of the presentations have been really well done! They were also required to check their pronunciation with me before they practiced - so it has been a long process! I hope to have the LAST presentations FOR BOTH divisions on Monday!!
Advice Given for French projects:
* do NOT use GOOGLE TRANSLATOR (creates gobbledigook - and I'm not teaching "troll"!)
* come to terms with the fact that you will not yet be able to express yourself like you do in English! You need to build a base before you can do that - like a pyramid of French! (Imagine you are 5 again!)
* If it is worth presenting/practicing, it is worth making sure it is communicate-able (get sentences and pronunciations checked BEFORE "memorizing" or practicing!)
